I work at an animal hospital as a kennel attendant, and this dog Tank came in with a laceration on his leg that needed operation. When the surgery was complete, the owner was unable to afford the cost. Tank was admitted to boarding while we tried to maintain contact with the owner regarding his bills. In the mean time, friends and family of the owner came in to ask us that we not release Tank back to his original home, as he was living in a car, and was being scarcely fed. His owner was in and out of jail, unemployed, and homeless. After 2 months of boarding, a final letter was sent to the owner explaining that Tank would be deemed legally abandoned if they did not make an effort to come get him within the next week.

We formed a bond while I took care of him for those 2 months, even teaching him new tricks. I informed my manager that I would soon be moving to a home where I could have a dog, and that I would be interested in adopting Tank when he's deemed abandoned.

I brought him home in March of 2016. He's the best dog I could have ever imagined. He's so sweet, smart, and beautiful. He loves children and babies. He's gentle, playful, and loves to go on car rides. He has great manners, loves everyone, but has the intuition of a dog trained to protect his family. Tank has saved my life in more ways than one.

pit bulls used to be called 'nanny dogs' for that very reason.
and then the MSNM happened.

What is MSNM? There is no information on this when you google it?

Main Stream News Media.

Ah, that is exactly right

:-)
One of the best dog's I have ever owned (?) was a red nose pit.My now ex rescued him and dropped him w/ me. He was near death from starvation , worm infestation, and dehydration.
Sounds like Tank found a good home!
I bet w/ just a little effort you could teach him to say "I Love You"
Buddy Boy sounded almost human when he said it.It was pretty clear and enunciated.
Best wish's to you,and ear scratches for Tank.
Namaste!

Tank is the most vocal dog I've ever met. I can provoke him to howl and scream just by saying "car" haha. He loves to talk!

It's a shame the most neglectful people are who most commonly have pits. They're a phenomenal breed. By your past tense wording, I'm going to assume Buddy Boy has since passed. I'm glad he got to experience true affection from you, and I'm sure he knew exactly what it meant when he said he loved you!

Thanks :)

Beautiful story of your love and affection for this dog that would have had no chances with his previous owner.

Thank you :) All dogs deserve a full belly and a loving family.

Agreed!:)

You have a heart of gold :)From the pictures Tank looks really good and well taken care of.Wishing Tank and your family all the best and lots of blessings :)

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. :)

Bless you ❤

Such a charming looking dog. High five for doing a good thing like giving him a home.

Thanks! I'll give him a nice belly scratch in your name.

Beautiful rescue story, I live to hear the good stories of people rescuing dogs (especially pitbulls).

What a sweet boy. I got my pitty, Storm when he was really young. He was living in a rough neighborhood and I can only imagine what would have happened to him had I not found him. He has turned out to be the sweetest friend I could have ever asked for.22196185_10154851452095143_517216395544945995_n.jpg
