Hey hey 😊
Here are my adorable Russian dwarf hamsters. They are Poppy and Peaches. They are so soft and terribly cute!
Poppy and Peaches are sisters but I had to seperate them because they kept fighting and I was worried they would end up killing each other.
Just after I seperated them, they were kept in temporary cages until I could make new ones.
However, during that time, the smaller one, Peaches was, I think a big fan of Houdini because she somehow managed to escape! Hamsters are fantastic escape artists. I know that for sure now.
So I put down food and water on the floor, just in case she was still in the house. I wasnt sure if she had gone out the door, or if the poor thing was hiding.
A few days later, my husband got up during the night at like 4am, and saw her deinking the water! She was still here! The little cutie was hiding in the house somewhere, probably scared and confused.
So I had a plan.
I was going to make one of those humane traps that has the bucket with the bottle that rolls on top with peanut butter slathered on with reckless abandon. I did a quick Youtube search, saw how to make it, then put my plan into action.
It was fairly easy. And now we wait.........
Ok I had to go to bed because she would have only come out if we weren't there.
So bed time it was.
The next morning I looked inside my makeshift DIY bucket trap thingy and there she was !!!
Scared and covered in peanut butter.
What a night!
So I put her back in her cage and made sure she couldn't escape this time.
And now, they are both happy in their new cages and being too adorable!
Thanks for listening ! I would love to hear if you have any hamster stories. Pop me a reply below!
All the best and,
