I have honestly not been as active as I used to be (honest rant)

Just writing this letter out as a burned out steemian. teemit is great, it's wonderful, it's definitely better than facebook when it comes to making money out of it (if you aren't selling anything). But reality bites. Minnows have almost no proper support. Either you buy your way to become a dolphin or a whale (if you filthy rich).

Steemit is fun, when I started I envisioned teaching 200 people here in Davao on how to steemit. But that passion is fading away. The first initial invites don't even post as much. No one is getting it and honestly i'm frustrated. I was also "teamed" up with steemph who follow up on me on discord and while I appreciate the attention, it feels like I'm some kind of VA. Like I didn't come here to get a job and have a boss. I wanna write about anything I want, when I want and how frequently I want. It's my F****** account!

As I m writing this I understand that all of this is pure frustration. I've honestly been more active in other platforms like bitconnect and other sites I make some extra money in. Steemit has been fun, don't really know if it will still be. I know that you don't come in here to make money. Focus on content and the "money will eventually come in". Honestly not so sure about that.

I see so many posts that were we written and you see 800+ upvotes, the post only earned $20 cause yeah everyone didn't vote with full power. It's their freedom honestly, but when you look at how they voted in steemd.com you can see that they all voted at the exact same time. These are bots. Not real people. Don't get me wrong if I got $20 or 800 upvotes i'd be grateful...to bots??? bulls***

The only real people who are any decent money here in steemit are the likes who invested in steem power. I know some people will be like, why don't you do the same? I've given it thought, but the amount of steem power you would have to buy to get your upvotes to be worth $1 is almost 2 bitcoin. In the Philippines that's half a million pesos already. SO yeah...again it nobody's fault but I hate it.

I make around $20 on a good day with bitconnect comapred to steemit. I make around $20 a day with fiffo. I make $10 a day with alifelong. I wonder how much this post will make?

I recently did an experiment. I have a focus group who automatically upvote me because of steemvoter. I get an average of 20-30 upvote per post and earn an average of $0.10 to 0.15, given that no dolphin or what upvotes. Given those numbers I microblogged in steemit by the form of photo blogs. I did the posts every hour and at the end of the day I would post 5 posts. The posts were 50/50, at the end of the day I would get around less than 0.20 in SBD and Steem power.

It was a fun experiment. What happened was I got followed up by people from Steemph for shitty posts. I said I was experimenting and basically got a sort of warning that if that's how you're gonna post, then you aint welcome here. Again...experiment...I never signed to have someone dictate to me on what I can and can't do in steemit. The last thing I did wrong in steemit was post an affiliate link, never did it again.

I am not giving up on steemit. It' actually a great place to produce content. I just don't want to be limited by the rules of other steemians. Peace

@aace234 I'm sorry you feel this way.

I will say this.. If it was anyone else in SteemPh and not someone in Core let alone the leader of Davao consistently posting "shitty" posts I wouldn't have cared.

But the fact of the matter is. Leader to Leader - we have to set the best example we can and that includes trying not to post shitty posts!

Also Leader to Leader I like to check in on my Core members and see whats going on. I'm sorry if that is stepping on your toes.

As leader of Davao I expected big things from you and I see I was wrong.

While here you are so obviously concerned about how much your posts are making. Perhaps if you focused on the content and quality of your post your posts rewards will be better?

There is @bayanihan that are compose of Filipino curators with some delegation from a whale @roadscape in helping reward QUALITY Filipino posts. So far Filipino quality posts have been rewarded from it. Higher rewards have been coming from Curie and individual whales. Check @asbonclz @gailbelga 's accounts and you will see that their posts have earned a lot. Deserving rewards for their quality.
After the hardfork...minnows have had it easy compared to before, even for dolphins.
Wish you all the luck.

While I understand your frustration and have sometimes felt the same, it is your account and you can post what you want, the only thing is people don't have to vote for it.

I think we are doing a bad job at retaining minnows also, but I also don't think there is much interest in promoting the SteemIt site.

yeap people dont have to vote on it. no one is obliged, but hopefully whales will consider probably helping out minnows for real. I will say this, I've seen some do so, we need more.

I've been promoting steemit since day 1, July 21. so far i've kinda dwindled down since I focused on other opportunities.

Feel you, bro. If only all curations are done manually, I believe that would make a huge difference other done using a bot. There are whales out there (plenty)still manually curating and we thank them for the extra efforts they are doing, sometimes they notice our posts. Other whales who don't have time scrolling down all day resort to bots and in this case the budding ones get left behind...not unless the first type of whales I mentioned stumble on those good posts. But hopefully there will come a time that those budding talents will be included in bots, even if the vote is less than 3%, that would make a minnow reach nirvana.

Well, there are a lot of manual curation works in Steemit - with the likes of @curie and @bayanihan, even @steemph does curation but the rewards are less. Curation technically means good content and both those curation accounts I mentioned focuses on quality and if posts are getting subpar on that then they can't vote on it. It's super hard being a minnow (by definition I'm a minnow but I'm earning good - because I worked for it so hard). I've tried so many ways to get upvotes but I figured it was true that rewards will just come to you: 1) You post real good. 2) You engage in the community. 3) You find ways to get rewards (like curie curators). Constructive criticism is so much different that manipulating people.

Yup.
