After more than a month of straight deployment and sleep deprivation for ASEAN Summit, we finally got a weekend off. I can't think of anything pleasurable to do but sleep but a friend asked me if I wanted to tag along to his buddy's family for a trip to beach and who am I to say no to a weekend getaway?

I have always been fond of long drive trips, we pass through mountainous terrain filled with verdant greens and sound of birds chirping. After a few hours drive we reached Marine Based Beach Resort which popularly known as Boracay de Cavite because of its creamy colored and fine texture sand. Through the connection of my father's classmates with the Navy we were able to stay on one of the guest house exclusive for the Marines high ranking officials, a few meters from where we are staying we can see the classrooms, barracks and training ground of the Marines.

At first I was really shy to bond with my classmates family for this is the first time I'm meeting them but seeing how nice and accomodating they were, we got along really well. We had dinner and bbq's by the beach, a few beer and a lot of stories to tell. We were woken up by the chants of the marine trainees doing there morning exercise, I myself who undergone to a training was amazed by how discipline they were. One of their morning routine is to take an early dip on the beach and chant, yes! they're chanting but seems like they were singing, I was surprised how good their voice sounds and thought to myself I should have entered the marines instead maybe it can help me in my singing career haha

On our way back to reality we passed by the Kaybiang Tunnel, the Philippines' longest subterrean road tunnel that links Ternate Cavite and Nasugbu Batangas, this is one of the favorite spot of motorbike riders where in they rev up their bikes and made a loud noise. We also made a quick stop to one of the view point in Ternate where you can see an overlooking view of the beach in Cavite.

Sun, beach and sand gives me a feeling of comfort, it takes away the stress of work and gives me a sense of serenity and with the company of friends made this getaway more fun. How I wish I get to do this every weekend or each one of us get to have an escape from the hustle and the bustle of the city.

Ps. This is one of my favorite sunset spot so far.
