LAS CASAS FILIPINAS de ACUZAR

in philippines •  7 years ago

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, or simply called Las Casas, is an architectural wonder, an open-air museum, and a hotel all in one located in Bagac, Bataan!

Unlike most places that feature replicas of old houses, the Las Casas features real ancestral houses that have been dismantled from its original locations brick by brick, and then transported, rebuilt, and restored in Bagac. While there are often cases of missing parts in the houses that the owner of Las Casas, Mr. Gerry Acuzar, these parts are replicated to resemble the original structure.

Houses here are named as "Casa" and then the city or town where it came from. For example, an ancestral house that was standing before in Binondo, Manila would be named "Casa Binondo".

Aside from the beautiful ancestral homes that reside here and the luscious scenery befitting to these homes, Las Casas also features a replica of St. Joseph Cathedral, which is very much unlike the other structures here, as the church is still being put to good use as of this day. Las Casas also has a swimming pool and a beach.

Their Heritage Day Tour starts and 9:30AM, with the last tour at 4:30PM, subject to weather conditions. Don't forget to bring some water and umbrella, wear a cap, and apply some sunblock before going here, as it gets really hot during the tour! Weekday tours cost P2,000 per person, while weekend tours cost P2,500 each (as of posting). Quite on the pricey side, yes, but Las Casas deserves to be included in your Bataan trip.
