Lelut Manuk

This is a lelut manuk that I cooked today for the kids. What it is, I could compare to a rice porridge. This is quite common here in the Philippines. If you want a quick breakfast but is filling then you can cook or just buy at a nearby street corner. That's how popular crowd favorite this humble food is. If you are in a soft diet this is a good option. People had put their own spin and some had elevated this dish into their own liking.

I prepared this today as a late afternoon carb fix especially now that we are experiencing some rains because of some typhoons or simple occasional rains. This dish is just right for this kind of weather.

How to cook it. Cook a few cups of rice but add more water as you are going for a porridge consistency. On a pan saute garlic then add in your choice of meat I used chicken which is the traditional one. You may add your choice of spices and aromatics. Pour some water and simmer until the meat is tender. Last, add the rice you cooked on previous step. Garnish with boiled eggs and green onions. Enjoy.
