"Variety is the spice of life", some people in the world have confirmed this, thus, we are attempting that route, let's see how it goes!
The original aim of @filipino-trail was to inspire the Filipinos on steemit, to create content in Tagalog or Filipino. There is huge reason for this as one of our core aim apart from strengthening the Filipino community on steemit is: Steemit growth!
"Steemit growth" is the part many don't yet understand. Basically, our main audience is the search engines and organic search that leads to steemit.
Filipinos who are not steemians yet and who are not very inclined to blogging in English especially, will be more drawn to joining steemit, if they found steemit posts in the search engine, written in their mother tongue.
Steemit is a home basically and potential users, are likelier to become steemians, if they are made to feel at home once they arrive on steemit.com and in the case of Filipinos, if they found a community/niche account, that has its posts in written in Tagalog.
Upon inception, the aim was to spur the Filipino community on steemit, to post in their mother-tongue and our aim was to support these posts but since we sought after google ranking too, it was important that these content was rich in Tagalog (Filipino). We also sought after consistency and willingness among Filipino authors who went this route. It was essential that authors see potential, in this aspect involving steemit growth.
Another aim at the time was, bonding the Filipino steemit community! If we all felt at ease to write in Filipino, without fear of the reaction of the steemit community, it will help our entire steemit endeavor gel better!
Other communities like the Korean and Chinese community on steemit do just this and it is evident that they are thriving.
Now we will like to go into a new variety of posts, with hopes that this new format will enrich the already flourishing Filipino steemit community as we will strive to cover activities in #philippines, in a daily recap steemit post, highlighting the awesomeness being created, in this part of steemit.
We want to attract steemians from every other region to visit #philippines more often because we are sure of the quality that emanates from #philippines. We will also cover #filipino!
This will involve reading, curation and commenting. Basically, we will have to read posts from authors in these tags to be able to build a recap post.
Steemians who visit #philippines less often can have a quick glimpse daily, into the beautiful creations done by Filipinos and lovers of the Philippines. At the same time, non-steemians who find our posts by means of the search engines can instantly feel at home upon seeing a community or hub of celebrated Filipino authors all within one post!
We hope to grow from here and unravel more Filipino authors as we feature their posts and link to them, creating more pathways for these authors to get heard.
Long road but an accomplishable one, so stay tuned!
Ok, I now understand the motivation for the Tagalog posts. But coming from a Cebuano, I can't read and write in Tagalog well, even though I studied in Manila for 6 years. I would also guess the more geeky Filipinos which would be the early adopters in steemit would be more comfortable with English. If you check the Philippines subreddit, most comments are in English there too.

Okay lang yan, for as long as we use this platform regularly, and we invites more Pinoys to use this blogging platform, at para na din makabawas na tayo sa overcrowded ng Facebook.

Nakakatuwa na malaman na may ganito at pinupush yung pagsusulat ng tagalog. I agree to both side first is with writing the blog in tagalog, some will be comfortable telling stories or sharing what they really feel if they are using Tagalog. But with @feedroh 's point,I also agree to that, since he is a Cebuano and doest not talk much in Tagalog,it will be hard for him to read post or relate to the poat written in tagalog, but for me,maybe as long as you are Filipino you can use #filipino-trail or #Philippines and use the language that you think you're comfortable which you can share your thoughts better. Masaya makabasa ng tagalog and nakakaappreciate din magbasa ng english.
