Walk of Hope update : A "Bamboo Creative Hub"

With @walkofhope's collaboration with #BambooNation3 When Walk of Hope and Bamboo Nation Collide last August 30th in Cebu, the first idea of building a HUB in Kabankalan City came into being. A plan that have not pushed through in Bayawan City where @flabbergast-art is presently based.

Headed by Bryan Auman, this is a group of architects whose specialty is the use of building Bamboo structures. Bryan, for his part, had a stint in Indonesia for his studies.

A Bamboo Creative Hub

This is a collaboration between Walk of Hope, Bamboo Nation and the Creatives of Kabankalan City for the purpose of having a place for future workshops, if not headed by @flabbergast-art, then the Creatives will do so to continue the CREATING LIVELIHOOD ADVOCACY that @walkofhope is trying to establish in Kabankalan City.

Choosing the site

As planned last weekend, our groups visited 2 sites in Kabankalan to choose the site.

According to plans, a 600sqm size structure is to be built, and it will have a mezzanine to serve as accomodations for any artists who passes-by. The ground floor will serve as the workshop area which includes a gallery for their finished products.

As Kabankalan City is rich of bamboo, last weekend included selecting the pieces to be treated, this will take a month. Although I have seen a few of Bamboo Nation's designs, new ones need to be made with @flabbergast-art's participation. These we will have to wait and see.

Creating Livelihood Advocacy

As proposed to @fundition here, this advocacy was started to help a total of 60 scholars who are in the brink of losing their scholarships due to less funds. For an income, a workshop is in the works for them to learn how to create bamboo products and innovations. The date for our workshop was changed to accomodate everyone who is involved.

Walk of Hope as an Advocacy

Walk of Hope is now an ADVOCACY, rather than a Charity. Although we started as the charity arm of Steemit Philippines, we need funds for it to run, coupled that with the expectations that we always have funds readily from communities we can come across. Gladly I can say that with this TOUR, we have the support of the local governments and the cities' CREATIVES and other ARTISTS from @flabbergast-art's circle of friends.
