Earthly Angels and Real Life Heroes

Can there be anything more disheartening than driving almost three hours in bad weather and still not making a dent in the mere 12 kilometers from your office to home?!!

Apparently yes ... FINDING OUT YOU HAVE A FLAT TIRE!😁😁

Luckily, the motorcycle driver who discovered it pointed it out just as I was at the Fort Bonifacio Gate 3, where two of the kindest souls hunched down on the wet gravel under the pouring rain, with barely any visibility and changed my tire for me -- while all I can do to help was stand over them with my umbrella (which really only helped a little) and provide light through my phone.

One could always argue that it's a soldier's duty to serve, but this is in fact above and beyond. And in true gentleman fashion Sgt Julius Glean and Cpl Florentine Lumboy absolutely refused when I tried to give them something for their effort. At that moment that they refused I just knew I will have to repay them somehow.

I often tell my daughter that the world is full of angels in various forms, and that real life heroes exist sans capes or masks. I met two of them today.

I am now going past hour number four on the road and the rains are still pouring, but am feeling quite cheery😀 Nothing like an encounter with good to make you feel good😀😍
