Where would your legs take you? To us, it brought us to Paradiso Bel-is. It is still yet to be known, but time will come, it will. When Boracay came to it's temporary closure, Aklan's hidden tourist spots were discovered. One of them is located very close to Boracay, just a few minutes away. Paradiso, which means "Paradise", is a hidden paradise indeed. It is located in Bel-is, (which as much as I know is the boundary of Buruanga and Malay, Aklan, the latter is where Boracay is located). Paradiso, Bel-is is an alternative to your Boracay dreams. It has white sand too, (though Boracay has finer sand, undeniably, and I can always compare it to other beaches I had gone to).
But before you can go there, you need to brace yourself for a brave adventure. 😊
My brothers and I started our journey at 5 in the morning, where we came from our house, located at Balusbos, Malay, Aklan. We decided to go there by a morning jog. At first, they've underestimated me, telling me I can't do it, but, oh, well, I proved them wrong.
Getting there is really not a joke. You need to go through a hell of a lot hills and rocks and sweat to be there. Some roads are not yet constructed. Houses are built more or less a hundred meters apart. No mobile signal. A community far from the city trends, but with people who are very much accomodating. We've met few people we've known along the way, some are relatives, some are just casualties.
We've reached the entrance of the place at around 5:40 in the morning. There was a man-made staircase going to Pardiso beach. It is more or less a hundred steps. Going down is easy. And what welcomed us is indeed breathtaking.
The beach is far from the crowded Boracay. It is good for people who seeks to dettach themselves from the stressing world. The air is too calming that you'd almost want to jump on it's waters. The water, yes, the water is as crystal clear as that of Boracay's.
What may get you confused are those "dirts" scattering around the beach. But, fear of it not, because those are not garbage made by an irresponsible man. Those are seaweeds and it does not harm the ocean.
The first thing you'll notice when you get there is the man-made swing built near the seashore. It has its resort's tag line, "Life is BEACHtiful in Pardiso Bel-is". It is just a right spot for a selfie and instagrammable pose.
Just a few steps away from Paradiso is the Langka Point Beach. Langka and Paradiso shares the same view, and rock formations.
Langka Point Beach is also breathtaking. Langka is a native term for "Jackfruit". But when asked for a "Langka" to the natives, they've refused saying, there was no langka, it was just the name of their place. So maybe, the next time I'll be there, I'll ask how did they arrive on that name. ☺️
We have really enjoyed the view. From climbing the rocks, to taking groufies, to almost getting wet just to get an instagrammable post. We've stayed there for at least an hour and it's all worth it.
So our next challenge is about climbing the hundred steps going up.
Finally, we did it. Only to find out, the easiest way to get to Paradiso is via pumboat which is rented on our neighborhood. Well, who cares, we want to get sweat.
