Plucking your own fruit

In the Philippines, we usually call this fruit 'Atis' (though it may varies on different region). In English, it is called sugar apple and it's scientific name is Annona Squamosa.

This fruit is really common and popular in tropical countries. However, since modernization can't be stopped this is now rarely seen especially in Cebu.

The last time I remember eating this is when I was 6 years old (if I'm correct). I wasn't expecting that I could taste this fruit again and not just taste but pluck my own atis fresh from it's tree.

Step 1: hold the atis (sugar apple).

Step 2: Pull it while twisting it.

Step 3: Congratulations
You have now your atis (sugar apple in your hand).

I'm so happy to taste this fruit again after so many years. Thanks to my uncle who is very diligent on taking good care of the plants on the garden. If I haven't known him I wouldn't be able to taste the sweetness of atis (sugar apple) again.
