Recently this year, Lapu-Lapu City experienced one of the most destructive and devasting fire that left thousands of families homeless and in extereme desolation. It was such a nightmare to consider knowing that it happened at the most unexpected hour leaving most of the victims nothing but only the clothes they're wearing. Folks, when you see all of them during those hard moments, you would all really feel their heavy hearts for these losses and the hopelessness which reigns on their faces.
According to them, it was their houses and their properties that they were so concerned of because admittedly it's not really easy to start all over again without a thing to rely on. Burned houses, documents, clothes, businesses and even pets were the aftermath you see on that calamity.
However as they make leaps to recovery, they openly declared that though they were tested and tried in these trying moments, sure thing that their spirits are not crushed and shall never back down to whatever situations life could bring them.

- Group of young people tried to composed themselves and support each other by fellowshipping and strenthening one another during their time of fellowship.
That's why an iniative thought and done by my students to help these fire victims. They proposed that instead of me asking to have a stage play as their final project, they will instead gather their contribution for these lost victims and buy relief goods to sustain their needs.
And when I heard this suggestion from them, i was all really nothing but stunned because of this passionate heart to call help for these people. And without a doubt we all agreed to do this one of a kind act of humanity.
- We decided to meet at a certain mall here in our place and bought relief goods for them. And since we dont have a place to pack all of them, then we just stayed to a corner to do the packing.
- When we arrived to the place, groups of people suddenly resurfaced and waited for the turn of distribution of these goods. Truly, they were so persistent despite this extreme heat just to be able to have something on their table in this times.
- *People now started to stand line for the distribution of these relief goods. During this distribution, not only did they give material help but also words of encouragement to strengthen the morale of these people. They exchange words of hope and fun with each other to somehow ease their situation.
- Moments shot when they warmly distributed these relief goods to the victims. I think nothing is more precious than seeing people help people. They lend not just material things but they themselves. Truly heaven is rejoicing at this sight.
Truly folks, life would be so beautiful with camaraderie. We may undergo unimaginable situations in life, but it pays to have people who share pure hearts lending themselves as the genuine help to the needy.
- After the mission, we all decided to celebrate this help by having a food fellowship at Mcdonalds. There, we exchange hearts with our experiences and the fulfillment we felt in helping these people. Truly, they believe that God has really endowed us a heart to feel and display true act of humanity for his people.
