Is there a reason you're not prescribed opioids, @cryptopie? I would think they would be much more effective pain relievers compared to OTC options.

Opiods will make me constipate. I do not like that as I had experienced a bad constipation and you can just imagine what I just had done for that.
Also, opiods lose their effectiveness in long term use plus its addictive, but maybe a taking it in turns with other types of painkillers will be a good option.
I might tell that to my doctor @runaway-psyche
Thank you.

No it won't help. You will start with the opiod and it will help you when you take it. When you take the OTC after that, it will seem very ineffective. Eventually, you will only take the opiod, and slowly start getting dependent on it. Your body will need more and more, to manage the pain. If you succumb like I did, it will start effecting your life in ways you can't even imagine. Being high and drowsy, all the time, is not easy. I feel fatigue all the time, and develop a mild temperature soon after I take tramadol. This happens everyday, over and top of the pain that I am trying to deal with. I have tried rehab, but even that didn't work, because I don't take the pills out of choice. I had no option but to go back, just so I could function! I can't work, and am totally dependent on my family for financial support and I can relate to you thoughts about the future. I too have panic attacks, when I think about my own life not being in my control.

Wish you luck! And stay strong!

Thank you @fuchsia.ink for sharing your experience.
I guess I won't touch an opiod
I might consider some herbal analgesic, I know one but seem can find it here at pharmacies.

Which herbal analgesic are you looking for?

It is called locally as "Yerba Buena"
It was once available here at our local pharmacies.
Maybe it is still is. I just can't check since I cannot walk around much @fuchsia.ink

Yeah, opioids definitely have drawbacks like constipation and tolerance building over time. Maybe you can use them infrequently during times like now when you're in exceptional pain. I hope you can find a solution with your doctor!

Is it a balm? Have you looked online?
