It is given that Philippines has the most Fiesta Celebrations all over the world that is considered one of the great influences of Spain that has taken root in our country.
Fiesta, although not originated in the Philippines became a unique tradition of every Filipino and became part of the main culture and religious events in the country.
This time, l'll be sharing to you how Fiesta is being celebrated in our barangay and its other traditional activities. But first, to make it clear to everyone let us first define What is a Fiesta? FIESTA is a religious celebration by the Roman Catholic people in honor of a saint. That, festivities mostly coincide with the day of the patron saint of a particular place. And each barangay has a fiesta which holds through for municipalities and cities depending on the political subdivision in the Philippines.
Fiesta is also a special time with friends, reunions, fellowships, alumnis, unification of every family member, foods and lots of activities.
Last June 27-28, our Barangay celebrated its annual Fiesta in honor of our patron saint Sagrada Familia headed by an Hermana Mayor which was said to be the fiesta sponsor and encharge of all the expenses and activities happening on that week prior to the main Fiesta Celebration.

Out of 106 graduates of Batch 2011, only 14 of classmates were present during the alumni.
A day before the fiest day is a vesper day. Among the activities during the vesper day is the annual parade around the barangay which was held in the afternoon of that day. During the parade,it was attended and joined of every local government unit with their muses being crowned as Miss Young Professional 2018 of the barangay.
The parade was being headed by colors.

At the Fiest Day proper, prior to its celebration was first being started by a procession or a religious parade which was being leaded by the hermana mayor and her immediate family in honor of the Saint of Sagrada Familia.
After the mass, the main celebration began which was being presented by every house of different kind of foods which was open to everyone for free.

I also used to go to other house with my friends. Hahaa.
At night, is the last party celebration of Fiesta. It offers kuratsa a traditional gala in the province of Samar to gain or earn money for the purposes of projects and developments in the barangay. It is a series of dance in which it was being dance with partner and people are giving gala or money while dancing the kuratsa.
This is suppose to be the way of dancing kuratsa. I was not able to take a photo because it was already late that night when kuratsa was opened. Photo credit: google
Since, it was the last night of celebrating fiesta after a series of kuratsa dance was a dance for every body.
In the end of the celebration, we should always remember that we are commemorating this religious celebration to thanks God for the blessings we receive in everyday life. We should not forget that the essence of celebrating fiesta is not how special you celebrate it but on how you give and have faith in God that everything is possible if you will just believe in our almighty creature.
