Nietzsche one of our probably best known German philosophers was born on 15.10.1844 in Lützen in Saxony-Anhalt. His first names were Friedrich Wilhelm, typically German. However, he would be world-famous only after his death, so he unfortunately could not experience any more how many people he has drawn into his spell.
At a very young age, i.e. at the tender age of 24, he became a professor at the University of Basel. After 10 years he had to give back his professorship due to stomach problems and severe headache attacks. For years he was then searching for areas with weather conditions that would alleviate his illnesses. By the time he was in his mid-forties, he was already experiencing serious psychological problems that did not allow him to continue working on his writings.
At first he orientated himself on Schopenhauer's works, but later he let it be again, because Schopenhauer's works were too negative for him. He died on 25.08.1900 in Weimar, and was no longer master of himself.
Some wisdoms and quotations from his work:
When you go to the woman, don't forget the whip.
The desire for reciprocal love is not the desire of love, but of vanity.
The essential thing about every invention is chance, but most of them it does not encounter. What he calls chance is in truth the invention, and it meets everyone who is awake and ready for it.
