Briefly, the asymmetry of the minority rule states that a few highly motivated (and intolerant) participants can have a huge impact on society, because the majority of people do not care that much (high on agreeableness).

In your story, you went years without even noticing that you were eating halal. Your only problem with the food was evidently the fact that your Muslim peers were allowed to eat it with you. I'm sorry, but that makes you a fucking asshole.
