We can think about our beliefs as a group of ideas that reside in our minds, usually in an unconsciously way and that without us being aware of it, they can direct our actions and make us act in a particular way, without necessarily knowing the proper reason as to why we act like this.
Beliefs in general being to form when we are very young, with the way we are raised by our parents, believing everything we hear from them is true, because as a child, we aren’t prepared to analyze if the information we receive from our parents is correct or not. For this reason, if our parents share with us the message that a particular thing might be dangerous or we should be careful when trusting strangers, which can be beliefs they have either received from their parents or created according to their own experiences, we will add them in our mind and act according to them, until we manage to develop a proper criteria based on our own way of interpreting things.
Any result we might have in our life will be based on our opinions as well as our convictions and beliefs. Therefore, if we feel that something is going wrong or that our life is no taking the path that we would like, we must begin to evaluate our beliefs and figure out which are really valid and which are not.
Starting from our younger age, we literally absorb every information we receive, both conscious and unconscious by all the people around us. We filter them with our experience and, if these beliefs are confirmed, we record them as experiences that are useful for similar situations in the future. This, which in the beginning is beneficial because it helps us not to have to learn from each experience as if it were the first time, can also be harmful when the belief is counterproductive for us to achieve our goals, in which case we will have to eventually become aware of this and discard the belief that is not useful for us.
Have you ever identified a believe that was counterproductive for your goals?

I used to have many limiting beliefs. It is not that easy to identify them specially if they were adopted by the whole society, they appear as the ultimate reality. Even the experiences in such environment confirms these beliefs. I used to have the feeling that there is something wrong with the whole thing, but I couldn’t identify it then. It is not before I started reading, that I found different perspectives for almost everything. And that what we believe we become no matter how difficult it might look.

With time, everyone eventually will discover a new point of view that might completely change any previous belief this person might have.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry for the late reply.
With the blockchain being down after the hard fork I didn't check old replies until now!
I think what you mentioned is something that happens to everyone, as we grow old, we gather new experiences and our understanding about pretty much everything starts to gets better with time.
The result is just as you said in here"... now can focus more clearly on my goals"
Cheers!

Another great piece of work. good choice of Topic @dedicatedguy
I've never gaved any thought to origin of my own belief system. You made me think .... and that's never good hahaha :)
Anyway the way I see it is quite simple. We're all being programmed one way or another. And creating belief system is part of this social programming. Would you agree?
All the best
Piotr

I believe that beliefs come from a set of values of the person, almost as a structure that identifies an ideal that the mind always seeks or believes living in society. There are different beliefs because people do not always give the same value to things.
