I would say who you are is who you are when you feel no negative emotion.. when you just feel good for no reason at all! I believe at the centre of all of us is pure positive energy.. that is who you really are anything else is temporary!

In my opinion

I disagree. The things in your life (both good and bad) mold you into who you are. The bad ones often providing the most character building. You can be your genuine self while happy, sad, or indifferent.

i know what you mean and i don't disagree entirely but i have another perspective and will have a go at explaining it more when I'm back from work..

Who you are is the sum of your actions and reactions. When that negative thing happens, your reaction is from your core, and thus reflects who you are. Some people feed off this negative energy, and make this the sum total of themselves.

but i believe that we are all inherently good and any one that chooses negativity is lost but in my opinion you can always get back to the positive - positive attracts positive, negative repels everything therefor being positive is much more powerful than negative so if you choose positivity it can overwhelm the negative..
