"RISE ABOVE" - Do we dare break the cycle and forge a new beginning?

in philosophy •  7 years ago  (edited)

It's amazing to consider the ramifications of simply being born on this planet.

We arrive, and already our lives are mapped out for us.
Our names are chosen for us, which will be a representation of who we are,
likely for the rest of our lives.
We are enrolled in a system that demands jurisdiction over nearly everything we will do.
We are automatically subject to the thoughts, ideas, standards and limitations
of the society in which we will live.
Nearly everything we think, feel, say and do will be scrutinized,
until we conform or lash out and rebel.

It would be nearly impossible for any one of us to arrive on the planet, and be free from these restrictions.  One would likely have to be born and live away from most everyone and all civilization, in order to truly invent themselves and be completely free to live the life of one's own choosing.

If such a person/people exist, we have likely never met them, as their entering or interacting with the rest of the world would drastically alter their experience.  Their life of freedom would be so different from anyone else's, that they would likely undergo much judgment for being who they are, and forced into getting in line.  Most people would not have any frame of reference to understand someone with such an uninhibited approach to life.  It has been my experience, that people have very limited perspectives, and hence, lots of judgment on others they do not understand.

Most of us cannot even fathom truly writing our own script.
We've gotten ourselves inside a box, where our thoughts and ideas
forming our actions, are actually not even our own.
Our brains and ideas have already been formed in ways
so we may never have the opening to see another way.
We have taken on generations of social norms, right and wrong,
good and bad, shoulds, have-tos and musts.
We are to say please and thank you,
do as we are told,
and act appropriately.

There are laws and ordinances to obey,
taxes to pay, permits, licenses and certifications to obtain.
We are convinced that institutions will give us health, wealth and future success.
Most of us want to fit in and be a "good, moral person",
according to the standards that have already been set before we arrived.

Yet, are these standards up to our standards?
How about we redefine and take into consideration our own values?
Could we actually come up with and enact standards that are of a higher vibration?
Could we live by values that are actually based on love and the betterment of mankind?

How many of us dare to break the cycle and forge a new beginning?

The saying "BE the change you wish to see in the world" is not easy to live.
For most of us don't even have any idea what that means.
Most of us have never considered what that would look like,
as we are too busy doing what we are supposed to do...
and just accept that this is just the way it is.

This is OUR time.
This is OUR opportunity.

Let's dream the dream.
Let's challenge ourselves to dig deep for what moves us.
Let's go out on a limb, even if that means we must stand up to the judgment of others.
For this is our life, and the future we will be leaving our children.
Our time is short on this planet.
Let's make this world a better world than the one we were born into.
Let's leave our mark and not let it fall further into disarray under our watch.

A whole new world will not come through our complacency,
or our acceptance of what is.
If what is is not to our liking, we have the opportunity now to make a change.
It may not be easy, it may not be popular,
and it may not be what others find as "acceptable" or "normal".
But we have the chance right now.
It will be what we make it--and we're making it with the way we engage
every moment of our existence.

Let's questions EVERything.
Let's do it together.
Let's rise above!

At the @gardenofeden, that's what we're doing.  We are questioning everything and creating a whole new world, based on responsibility, freedom and the betterment of humanity.   We are rising to the occasion to make a difference, to stand in love, and to set an example of what is possible.  My dream is that we do it together, for change will be much more rapid if we all take it on as our personal responsibility.  We cannot wait for others to change, nor can we even expect them to.  Many are lost and cannot find their way. Those of us who see clearly have the opportunity, and the responsibility, to make great things happen.

@quinneaker, visionary and founder of the @gardenofeden

We're rising to the occasion.

I hope you will join us to stand up and rise above!

Oh the joy!

That's for sure!!!

∞§∞EverLove∞§∞

Our institutions were built for good purpose but because of selfish desires, they do not serve the purpose any more but fight the good change of man kind. They fight against freedom in everything. They enslave positive change and fight creativity. Our institutions are our own enemy of progress. They are the cause of suffering. Great article! I stand for love and positive change.

This is so beautifully written!! Peace and love begins with birth!

Death and rebirth---two of the most incredible moments!

This is indeed deep. If we do everything in love, our world would be a better one.
Thank you for this powerful and insightful word,God bless you.

You're welcome, and thanks for being here. Love is indeed the answer @emmakwisequote. God bless you too.

Amen.... Let the flag of love keep flying and the world problem won't be there anymore.

Imagine that kind of remarkable change!

It can happen through people like you and people like us.

We're doing it!! <3

And the world is enjoying it.

Gratefully so!

"A whole new world will not come through our complacency,
or our acceptance of what is". I like that quote of yours. It's true. The world may hate you for making the changes you see necessary to create the new life you desire. We must cherish every moment, for we will not come this way again. We are shedding our skin every moment of our lives. And the world we experience in each of those moments is through the eyes of a different person from who we once were. Thanks for the post.

That is an awesome comment @tedwang. I love that we have this opportunity, and I hope people will be inspired to do it with us. It indeed comes with a cost, but I believe that in the end, people will be grateful for those who have forged ahead and taken the necessary steps to make great change. I appreciate your sharing @tedwang.

You just referred to a great truth; practically force us from birth to stick to a pattern of society; It is up to us to have the ability to forge our true path. It's a daily job ... Greetings.

Diligence, focus and commitment to creating a better world. We have much to overcome, and yet such a great opportunity to experience it. Thanks for the fine comment @cjao20.

Thanks to you @everlove; these reflections always strengthen us. Greetings.

Blessed yes!

This is absolutely spot on. In a world where everything is decided for us, from names to others, from expectations and standards that doesn't even measure up to ours, we need to break the norms and question everything. I admit, it doesn't have to be popular or widely acceptable but this is our life, no one should tell us how to live it. We shouldn't conform to the standards of others which is totally alien to how we are, we should rather raise the standards to show people how we desire to be loved. Question everything and find your peace in the midst of it then act on it. Pace setters! You blow my mind again with renewed vigour. Thank you so much for this post.

And this is a beautiful comment @olawalium. It is a rare being who will actually stand up for their values--if in fact they even know what they are. This is our time, our watch, our responsibility. Buttons definitely get pushed when people are shaken out of their comfort zone. We have had to stand up to lots of scrutiny and judgment, including a SWAT raid that tried to take us down. This is not a job for wimps, but for those who are willing to live on the cutting edge and move mountains to create change. I am truly grateful to @quinneaker who stands true regardless, paving the way to a whole new paradigm of living. Thanks for seeing the possibility, and for acknowledging not only the potential, but the sacrifice and hard work it takes to stand in the fire.

Yes, it takes a sacrifice and hard work to stand for something when the odds are stacked against you and i really appreciate all your efforts. Really? SWAT raid? Wow. That's totally unacceptable. Been seeing a movement as regards Social Services that wrestles children away from their parents too. We really need to stand up because this is our time as you rightly pointed out. A massive shout out to @quinneaker for being so awesome. Following him already. I really admire you all and i am always here whenever you need me.

It is quite the challenge to stand up in times when the odds are stacked against us. We have not only endured a SWAT raid, held at gunpoint for 10 hours, with even our children (one only 2 weeks old at the time) under the gun, but we have also defended against Child Protective Services that attempted to have their way with the children. It's a very sick system. Unfortunately, and fortunately, it is us doing this to ourselves. It's super sick, but because it is us, we have the ability to make change.

Thanks for seeing us @olawalium, and for your support. Wise move tuning into @quinneaker. He really has an exceptional perspective and so very dedicated to his vision.

Wow! You've been under so much yet still standing. That's selfless. I believe in you, your fights and ideas. I'm with you everytime. It will end in praise. I love this: "...but because it is us, we have the ability to make change." Change is what we seek and we will be deliberate about it till we find it.

Responsibility really is key. Blaming others or circumstances keeps us in the pattern. We are the power!!!

Grateful to share awareness of these things @olawalium.

Yes, we are used to blaming others when we are the one not taking steps. Nobody is responsible for us, we are. No one owes us anything, but we should take steps too.

I'm with you!! We got this~ and exactly the right amount of people on this Earth to make some REAL and LASTING change. I really love this post, and your sweet insights, definitely resteeming for you~ Thank you for sharing from your heart. I bet you got chills writing this, like I did reading it. I'm doing my best every day to make a better world. Standing up for what is morally right (in my eyes) and doing my best not to judge the ones that aren't. Blessed be~

Being non-judgment is really quite the challenge, as everyone thinks their own perspective is the right one (otherwise they wouldn't have it). It takes dedication to live up to high standards, and to not crumble in the face of opposition, yet still stand in love regardless of the situation.

I really appreciate your comment @inamorata. Thanks for working toward making the world a better place. I would love to hear what that means to you. Blessed be!!!

Well, I just try to have compassion as much as possible. I stand up for what is right, and speak out against what is wrong... It's hard to say what that is, considering I am going based on my own ideas and preference... But I just feel we have to stand for the ones afraid to use their own voice... I basically just live to serve any way I can and inspire people as I go.. I also choose to work in ways that I morally agree with... I don't give my power away very often, but will admit that at times, I do. I just try my best with what I have to create from my heart in this world ^_^

I really love your comment @inamorata. It's fun to hear of your moral compass and still aware that right and wrong are matters of perspective. Coming together to create the world in which we wish to live is really a blessing, and a beautiful way to give back o the world. Grateful to know you @inamorata. Have followed you.

Thank you! I am following you as well <3

The time for change is now. The future is not determined by what we did (or think we learned) in the past, but by the choices we make now...

Whatever we dream we can make happen.

How can we break the cycle?
For me, it has been liberating to question my beliefs... when I engage in a conversation what's the source of my words? Am I simply repeating what someone else told me? If so, why? Does it resonate with me? Once I realized that pretty much all beliefs came from external sources, it was easy to recognize them as falsehoods and start my search for the truth. I don't claim to have found the truth, but the door is open to let it stream in...

Exactly @edward.maesen. First we must recognize there is something to question, which can be quite the challenge when we are on autopilot. I love what shows up when we let go of our ideas. Truth is relative, but being open to fresh possibilities is such a blessing. I'm really grateful for your comment. Thanks for being here.

Truth is relative, everyone's experience is unique, and this uniqueness should be treasured, cultivated and allowed to blossom.

Quite the divine perspective @edward.maesen. #ThankYouForBeing as well my new friend.

Baby humans rock.

Yes they do, especially these!

💖

@everlove you're right people should not jugde others when they know only one side of the story, and me one of the most important thing i have learned in life is to ignore what people say and watch what they do instead, umh this post is so touching

Yes, I agree with you @jordanlove. Actions do speak louder than words. Talking is so much easier than taking real action. Judgment also runs deep, as that is simply the way we have discerned to tell right from wrong, which is always relative and a matter of perspective. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog.

I love your screen name, btw.

yeah, our life is very interesting but sometimes sad, you dream all your life and fight all your life for that and then when you get everything, you just have fun with that and after just leave everything and no one remambre about you after years, it's very sad that we will not live forever. :(

Living a life in service in helping others helps to make a life worth living on many levels. Working hard for things actually can leave you empty at the end of a life, with nothing to pass on but items from this physical world. There can be more to life then that.

Thank you very much for sharing a fun of us under a scanner

Wonderful post, thanks for sharing

Am so impressed about ur post am following u up In oder to stay in touch.lets stay in touch

I would be delighted to stay in touch @kelgreen. I'm grateful you find value in this post, and I hope to see you back here again. Blessings to you.

The whole purpose of our life is learning through these limitations, struggling/ stumbling. And after having got word, start the process of unlearning after realizing the futility of all that what is learned.
However thing to be noticed is, in spite of the fact that our planet is no more than a flex of sand in comparison to the ever enlarging world of galaxies, human kind has achieved such a strong progress and developed so much understanding of the universe as a whole.

We are merely a spec in the grand scheme of everything. Sometimes it feels we have figured some things out and are taking steps to move in the direction of love and greater freedom, and other times it feels like we are more complacent and encumbered than ever. I hope we continue to question and make it a priority to do something everyday that will move us in true and progressive direction of our dreams.

Nice article with very good illustration! Love the second photograph.

Thanks @frankabelle. It's one of my favs too.

Wow! You are welcome

@everlove Beginnings start with us. Taking chances and standing out among the crowd to make a difference. It takes courage and passion. So everyone follow your heart and you can never be wrong.

You're right @jr11. It takes a LOT of courage, dedication, passion and focus to follow a dream. We have been living it for almost a decade, so we know it is possible, but it isn't always easy. There are governmental agencies and others who don't want people to know that such possibilities exist, and they sometimes go to great lengths to stop it. Combining our efforts is really the answer, as together our power is exponentially amplified. Let's all move in the same direction and let our hearts lead the way.

i enjoy your post ^^! Thanks.

You're welcome.

We can definitely open our own doors for new beginnings and stray away from the narrow path that this world sets up upon. Thanks for sharing this. :))

You're welcome @emmanuelle23. I feel we have great potential if we come together and really stand up and dedicate ourselves to change. We must invest in every moment toward a better future. We are the power!
