I don't understand what you're saying.
You are well educated.
You are not well educated.
Why do you behave like that?
Diversity is everywhere.
From our genes to our housing to our social lives, we are all very much different - even 'genetically identicals' are shaped by their environment, with differences manifesting.
I would now like to make a statement, to create an Hypothesis of sorts, that suggests just the opposite.
I intend to demonstrate that “we are all the same and should be treated as such across the planet”.
Method
As proof, let's start with a simple example.
A Chinese heart surgeon and an Indian latrine attendant (a janitor).
Perhaps your first thought is the surgeon is highly educated whereas the janitor is likely not.
Maybe prejudices creep in next as you use your preconceived notions of nationality, their strengths, their weaknesses and certain other biases, as you further measure and compare these two individuals in your mind.
Now this categorization, this compartmentalization will expand even further when I tell you that one of these two is female.
Do you recognize what you are doing in your mind?
Now let's explore why we all do these things.
Observations #1
Homo sapiens had to contend with a Fork - a split, a choice of two paths according to my Hypothesis.
The exact date of the Fork is kind of hazy now, but most historians believe the Agricultural Period began about ten to twelve thousand years ago.
It was then that we slowly abandoned our predominantly Cooperative ways and begin to encourage Competition, one with another.
Observation #2
For the next step in proving my Hypothesis it is necessary to use our imagination for a short while.
Now I would like you to try and visualize what our life, our society, our world would be like today, if we had chosen the other path, way back when we started to plow a field for the first time - ever.
It is my contention we would all be living in small villages - some low-Tech, some medium Tech and many very high Tech.
But we would still be Sharing everything with our neighbors in our Local community.
Looking back, we would see there was never any currency, any Bitcoins, no trade, no barter or exchange - just Sharing.
Analysis
Now, ask yourself - in that kind of environment is there any difference between the surgeon and the janitor?
o No National borders
o No profiteering, no money
o Equal opportunities for Education, Health Care, and Employment
Conclusion
I believe my Hypothesis is correct – that we are all the same (humans), and should be treated equally, sharing the planet's resources as equitably as possible.
