Same Old, Same Old...

Source

According to the National Science Foundation (2005), most people have anywhere between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts per day.

80% are negative AND 95% are exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before.

Source

Think of this.

The average person's thoughts are the same thoughts he had the day before, the months before - even years before!

His introspective conversation is repetitive, boring - a broken record (Oops, I mean, broken iPod. Shit! Even THAT phrase is becoming antiquated!).

With this regime, it's obvious that people know what they want and what they should do to get it.

So WTF?

Why don't they have it?

The Frightening Unknown vs. Familiar Misery

Source

The truth is that it takes courage to venture out.

It takes confidence to change old ways and say, "Fuck it. We got this. Let's Go. On me..."

The majority endure lives of silent misery.

It takes the trailblazer, the maverick, the crazy individual to say, "Fuck it. We got this. Let's Go. On me..."

Source

Funny thing.

Such an attitude is magnetic and attracts supporters, resources, and momentum.

Think cryptocurrency.

Think decentralization.

Before long, the Frightening Unknown becomes an invigorating adventure.

What do you mean,"Am I OK?"

source

In these days of the Big Bear market, my friends look at me with pity and ask, "Are you alright?" - as if I was on the verge of suicide or something.

Here's my usual response:

"WTF? Do I say that to you when the S&P or NASDAQ tanks?"

Source

Now, just like many years ago when Ripple and Jed McCaleb plunged XRP into the abyss, I declared that I was BUYING, AND BUYING, AND BUYING!

Imagine that?

I bought at less than 4-5 cents per XRP?

About the Author

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.

Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

He lives on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.

Ahhhh - I have a lot of people I consider family from the Philippines. Do you eat balut? Sorry had to ask! LOL 😜

Love balut. Urban legend says it makes a man a sexual T-Rex!

Am trying to visualize what is in sight. So how is it that negative thinking is having a greater percentage @jaichai

RE: Your Comment

Here's a Very Abbreviated Discussion about Investing and Trading:

What you were hinting to in your comment boils down to my personal investment/trading philosophy.

I readily admit that it's rather contrarian.

It goes against human nature. IMHO, that's a good thing.

Why?

Because it's exactly the actions (in reality, deep-seated reactions) within the parameters of "normal" human behavior that enable the exchange/market to bleed money from the majority of investors.

For example, many irrationally exuberant investors/traders will overestimate their resiliency during Bull Runs.

FOMO and greed encourages them to over leverage with ungodly amounts of temporary capital in their margin accounts; only to be wiped out by a margin call during a minor dip.

But I stray a bit. Let's get back to the philosophy...

Over the years, looking past basal, reactionary impulses and acting decisively has proven very successful for me and many others.

Ponder this.

Those with experience have a clear understanding of their risk tolerance and time horizon.

They develop a firm, personal investment philosophy and use it as their point of departure - basis for investment/trading behavior.

Whether it's short term (day trading) or long term (cost averaging, HODL), experienced investors/traders know very well that crowd fervor easily makes THEMSELVES TO BE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMY.

Consequently much soul searching has to be done to confidently invest/trade.

Stated differently, when a definite strategy is formulated - a strategy that is developed with thorough due diligence and solitary introspection - then and only then, can investors/traders actually plan their trades, and trade their plans (meaning: a definite entrance and exit strategy) devoid of any confidence-eating FUD).

Otherwise, the all-too-common outcome is to crumble at the first sign of a correction, dead cat bounce, or out right crash.

But, IMHO, if the fundamentals and the story of the coin or company has not changed, any decrease in price of an asset (that you wholeheartedly believe in) should be treated as a great buying opportunity.

Remember this:

"Buy the fear, Sell the greed..."

Because if you follow the herd, you will definitely get slaughtered.

Hope this made sense to you.

LOL!
Of course, I claim that I am trying to leave that circle and thinking new thoughts. Which is actually the hardest thing to do.

I am happy other humans gave some really good inspirations in thinking in "crooked" terms.

I got this. Without the "F k it" :))

Thanks for making me laugh this morning! I might have said this before , but "I got this"!
