It is the human condition to test one's mettle - so to speak - when dealing with the disparity of external opinion and one's own personal beliefs.

The gamut of emotions are set in motion when one is focused on achieving something - anything.

For those who have already come to this realization, I applaud your efforts. I'm certain you are "feeling it".

For those who have yet to experience it, I submit the following musings.

(IMHO) this is what it is to really "Feel Being Human":

Something To Ponder - "To Feel Human"

"To really feel being Human, one must be striving towards one's own personal success; to write one's own "Personal Legend " (Paulo Ceulho "the Alchemist").

Why do I say this?

Because the only CONSTANT in this reality is CHANGE (meaning: Oftentimes, the killer of success is success unexamined).

And one must accept this universal principle or fall prey to complacency.

For "success" is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal (Earle Nightingale) - whatever that goal may be." - Jaichai

About the Author

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.

After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.

Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

He lives on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.

I like it that you say that striving is part of being human. Though I do not like the process of striving, I have learnt to accept it. Like it is quoted in your post, success would be a worthy prize awaiting at the end of the process, hopefully. hahah! Thanks @jaichai :)

Don't forget that simply by striving you are, indeed, already a success.

"Failure does not occur until one quits altogether..." - Jaichai

That is beautiful, thanks @jaichai! This makes my day! :)

Correct.
I personally believe that everyone has a qualification that he does not like, beyond that many obstacles have to be overcome. There is no work that people can not do in the world.

Great words @jaichai, thank you!
Of course there are many measures of success, but the best one I have ever heard and adhere to is: "The warmth of a person's heart."

Inspiring words. Really insightful post.
