I am sick and tired of human beings being pushed down and relegated to second place in favour of legal fictions.
It's like we have forgotten the reason why we created Governments and Corporations in the first place.
It's like we have forgotten the end-goal of mankind - happiness and cooperation.
When did it became acceptable in our society to set aside human fundamental pursuits through legal rhetoric, which tries to equalize the human spirit to corporations? This is not an attempt to degrade the organizational benefits corporations bring to the economy, but it's just a call to action on setting limitations.
In the future, when our offspring look back in history, somewhere they will read that it was natural, in the beggining of the XXI century, for people to die of starvation, die of cold and die of depression - all because society had decided that such was adequate. These decisions were made through things that were not really people, but we treated them as such - and not only that, these things had more power than people themselves.
Now, again, I understand the benefits of corporations. I understand the complex and intrinsic nature organizational structures have to mankind - I work on corporate finance, so I actually know a little bit more about that than the average person. But I also know how these structures take advantage of certain situations, that as a consequence creates a predatory behaviour on the weak and disenfranchised - those without a voice. The children, old people, people with no access to education, people with no access to healthcare.
Organizational structures need a social consciousness that cannot be merely created by consultants and advisory boards after meetings with risk analysts and Public Relations personnel.
I think we still need to establish a general setting on the end-goal of the human-being. Until we do that, we're going to have international mismatches on the concept of dignity, which will allow for its exploration and abuse.
