The individual within the mob is consumed and lost to the group think belief that their victim IS guilty of being guilty in the eyes the mob
The victim is an individual that MUST be sacrificed for the greater good. A good that the mob has democratically agreed to.
Liberty is the belief that the victim has rights beyond the democratic tyranny of the group.
This is the dichotomy of collectivism vs individualism.
