Thou Shall Prosper... ?

in philosophy •  7 years ago

On Friday I actually came across a very interesting YouTube interviewing the author of "Thou Shall Prosper", and very interestingly this speaks about how we see money.

And so coincidentally @tifaong mentioned her latest post $$ LESSON 1: The Poor and Middle Class Work for Money. The Rich Have Money Work for Them during our very first #kopitiam session hosted by our two very talented home grown #teammalaysia DJs @zord189 and @branlee87

Although I did not really finished the Rich Dad Poor Dad book but I understood the necessity to learn to reprogram our mind into looking at money very differently.

And I intend to finish reading Tifa's post tomorrow since my brain is about to snooze off soon after a really long day today.

However, before I log off for the night, there's a very interesting question that the author of Thou Shall Prosper asked:

Are you having the mindset that when you earn money, you are thinking that you are taking away someone else's money?

Like money is just only a piece of cake where once you have a slice too much, other people will end up being derived from it?

And he carried on saying,

If you have ever thought of that way, you are going to be poor for the rest of your life.

Wow... this seems to be quite a shocker for me personally.

As a good Christian we always have the mindset of thinking that money is evil and we never thought that economy existed (traded in terms of monetary) is part of God's plan; but it is the love of money that was being forewarned in the Bible instead of just "money" and what Jesus ended up quoting "You cannot serve two masters"

So that being said, I will be looking forward to finish reading Tifa's 1/10 post series about how we handle money and not letting money handle us (I think that could be the gist of it), I will also be pushing myself to read off this book Thou Shall Prosper: The 10 Commandments of Making Money

This seems coming hand in hand and I think I do really need to read this through and I personally believe that this is going to be a beneficial journey to read it from the point of view of a Rabbi.

(Yes. He is a Rabbi)

but thank you for your kind words and your visit!

Is this coincidence or inevitability, @littlenewthings?
I say it's the latter. Somehow we're both into Money and ready to change our relationship with money. I'm looking forward to expand my perspective about money from you :)
