Discover A New Way To Get Rid Of Your Regrets!

in philosophy •  7 years ago

  • Because they made a wrong financial decision.

  • They hurt someone close to them emotionally.

  • They did something in a situation they didn't want to do.

But, instead of crying over what you did, have you ever thought why you did it and how it had happened?

Just think, what is it that you regret the most?

Has that event made a big effect in your life?

Has it changed you a lot, whether in a good way or bad?

You may feel a bit uneasy about the chain of events that happened if you remember the situation. Blaming the circumstances is easy, taking the responsibility is difficult. And no matter how much you feel that you were responsible for it, you have to do something to give up the burden and feel free once again.

Regrets make you weak as long as you hold them. It is a way of saying that I am stubborn and I don't want to improve.

Why would this technique work?
It will change your perception, like if you had an accident, either you could be sad that you got injured or you could be happy that you are still alive.

It is that you think now, you should have acted differently at that time.

But how could you have done something perfectly if it was the first time you were in a situation like that?

Are you always the perfect one, to do things perfectly, to react to circumstances perfectly?

Let's imagine a different scenario, suppose a thief breaks into your house and he has a gun. Now some of you might think they can handle the situation, but if you think practically, everyone will be scared to death.

So what will you do?

You will panic and you will make mistakes that you will regret later.

But what if it is not the first time you have gone through this situation?

What if this has happened to you ten times, what if it has happened to you a hundred times?

You will be calm as if taking a walk through the park, and you will know everything you have to do.

What has changed between the first and the 100th time?

You have learned from your mistakes. But what would have happened if every time you will just sit and whine why it has happened to you.

The result would be same the next time also, and you will get robbed.

Same is true about our lives and the regular decisions we make.

We may make a big mistake, the first time, the second time, but if we are smart, we will think about it and will not repeat it the next time.

Everyone becomes better by learning from situations he/she has gone through. How else to improve?

So the things you hold regrets for are the things where you can improve yourself, whether it be how to behave with your closed ones, or where to invest your money.

Even if you regret about someone who is not anymore in your life, you still can learn a lot from your actions, to act in a way that you will not hurt those who are still in your life or the people who will come in your life, who will always care for you.

Have you ever did something so that you don't repeat your actions?

If you did something to change yourself, then there is no reason to regret over your actions as it will prevent you from making blunder mistakes in future. But if you didn't do something to improve yourself, it is time to get over the situation again in your mind and think in a number of ways, what you should have done otherwise?

What you must do next time so that you don't repeat your mistakes again.

There is no better way to improve yourself than to think about your mistakes and to learn from them.

The question is, have you learned something from your mistakes?

If the same situation comes again, will you be able to act differently?

@hilarski thanks a lot, but can you tell me what is social media queue?

In my mistakes if I am able to talk with someone about why they happened I can normally push through and learn. But if I ponder on my own I may not be able to see why the mistake happened. This community of Steemit allows for people to come together over their mistakes and find a solution without a mocking response. This is the only community that is open minded enough to talk about real issues and real ideas.

You can always talk to someone here, or even me, if you feel that way. Sharing your troubles help you a lot.

Those are some neatly presented thoughts, thankyou :)

Repeating the same mistakes without learning from them is like digging ourselves into a hole that we cannot come out of. Profound thoughts that make you think. Thanks for an amazing post. Look forward to more.

Sure, more will come.
