"You can't hit a target unless you are aiming for it, and you can't achieve a goal without having it." Shawn Doyle, Two Months to Motivation.

Why Do People Fail?

One of the main reasons for failure is not creating goals. They say that if you fail to plan then you are planning to fail I find that very appropriate because if you are not planning out your goals, you are indeed geared for failure. Goals are created to make you succeed and if you do not have goals you are not going to succeed. Any success is incidental, not planned.

Your Goals?

So have you planned your goals and what are those goals? The best thing to do is to not only create goals but also share them with everyone. Sharing them on a social platform such as Steemit makes sure that you hold yourself as accountable. It will force you to act and that in itself will ensure that you will start moving towards your goals.

Write Your Goals Down(Now)

Shawn Doyle says in his quote that you cannot achieve a goal without having it. Writing down a goal is not just a reminder for yourself. It is an ask to the Universe to grant you what is due to you. It has been proven again and again that if you ask the Universe in writing for something you want, the Universe will grant it to you. Anyone who is familiar with the Law Of Attraction will know that this is true.

Don't wait to set up your goals. Do it now, and share it with others. It is as simple as creating a post around it and publishing it on Steemit. Your goals do not have to be a list of 10 points or all that you want to achieve. Start with a list of 3 or 4 goals and but put it down for a start. You will be surprises as to what written goals can do for you.

Here are some of my goals, in this post:

My First Month At Steemit

A list of goals is as good as a list of wishes come true on a future date. That is how powerful it could be.

Make sure that your goals are time-oriented. A goal has to be achievable a finite period of time. It could be a week, a month or 3 months. Of course it is better to make short term goals, and then roll them up to longer term goals. If you achieve your short term goals you are well on your way to achieving your long term goals. When you reach your long term goals you know that you are achieving success.

Shawn Doyle is one of the most eminent learning and development professionals in the world. He has spent his life helping people achieve more in their lives and become truly successful. The quote is taken form his bestselling book, Two Months to Motivation".

I usually work towards goals but I don't formalize them enough I think, and tend to change goal now and then. Great tip writing them down and sharing, thanks!

Thanks for your comment! Putting them down on paper or online makes a big difference in my personal experience.

Hi! I am a robot. I just upvoted you! I found similar content that readers might be interested in:

Hmm.. just checked for myself and here is what I found out.

Other than the quote there are two sentences which are similar elsewhere. The two sentences are as follows:

  • It is an ask to the Universe to grant you what is due to you.

  • A goal has to be achievable a finite period of time.

Merely a coincidence because I didn't look up anything on Wikihow. Going ahead, I may need to use tools to check for similar sounding text in advance. Thanks for the excellent job of finding similar content Cheetah!
