Only Two Years?

in philosophy •  4 years ago

Had we known two years ago, where we'd be now, wouldn't we all be in a different place? That's the beauty of it all, really, the unknowability. Sure, we can estimate, we can posit, we can guess.. but that's all they really are: guesses.

Hindsight is 20-20. The past is yesterday, the future is tomorrow, all we can focus on is now, the present. If we immerse ourselves in our present moment, both past and present come into focus. We see where we've been, what has lead to this moment, and we will see where we're going, based off of where we're at now; at least, a glimpse of a possible future... after all, it's all really just a guessing game, isn't it?

Or is it? Can we shape our future? Can we see it? Make it, with our own will, to be true? That's where we're all at right now, in the present, shaping our future with our will, our wishes, our actions, our absence of actions. It all contributes... even when we don't contribute.

Just a bit of content to get things going again. If you enjoyed this, let me know! Abstract thinking and philosophy are some of my favorite things... Hope y'all have a good one.
