It's like force of habit vs. an ever evolving set of ideals

in philosophy •  7 years ago

or maybe a set of ideals we can constantly balance. there's definitely a force of "what's been done before" that seems to always be pushing us or pulling us one way or another. contrasting a set of ideals, or things we want to do but maybe don't fully integrate. the tension between the two is stress, or worry, or maybe an unconscious hungering for more, for change.

though how is one to avoid being swept up into the force of what's been? an old self, an unchanging bundle of worn out morals and half ass functions holding together a set of beaten routines resembling an old garden path of sorts? maybe fall in love with it, how the sunlight falls through the trees light dew on a field,

seriously though, it's funny if you laugh at it. from here to there could be shorter than a measurement. the rocks only become smoothed out after the water has been run over them for a time, so it could be like that with ideals. so i will be working out tomorrow, and also wednesday, and friday.
