12 step existential post

  1. Existence has no inherent meaning so people use this observation to conclude that it's somehow depressing and act accordingly.
  2. Disappointment contributes to depression and happens when created expectations are broken which in turn can pile up and cause more damage.
  3. The only way to avoid being damaged beyond a point of repair is to not play at all, right? This presents the singularity of life and death.
  4. So why not end existence now? Well, even if we take into account that we don't care anymore, we would not even realise what we had done.
  5. How to avoid suicide or self-harm? Imagine death to be much more terrifying than life. No demons but isolation while keeping all memories.
  6. So either you do not get to process your own death, making it useless, or you live on, unable to communicate. Heaven is equally Hell.
  7. In the attempt to escape from something bad you are not guaranteed to find something less worse. Imagine, if not even death was certain.
  8. It's tempting to "end it all", but I suggest you do not believe death to have no negative side effects inherent in the action itself.
  9. Imagine a reality which would inhabit beings you could observe, but not comprehend and lose your mind. We do not live in such a reality.
  10. Be happy death is certain. That means there's no need to end it yourself. Be happy you experience things and live in a finite reality.
  11. But, what is the point of survival and procreation, if the end result will always be the same? There is none, and that is counter intuitive.
  12. How to deal with counter-intuitive things? If there's nothing one can do to solve this situation, it 's not a problem. Simple as that.
