Instead of primarily trying to seek happiness, try to be worthy of happiness; to deserve it.
Morality does not bring happiness, but without morality, you don't deserve happiness at all.
Study morality. It is a skill, a delicate one - a skill you are not born with, unfortunately. Study it, practice it.
