Why do we personify "God"?

in philosophy •  7 years ago

We personify God because that's what are brains are meant to do. Personifying what is impersonal is a feature of our brain, whether we like it or not. The various religious and mythological entities we've come up with over the past millenia prove this. Whether they are representations of something that's really out there is hardly relevant, as their existence within our psyche point towards a definite function for our survival
