The More You Want, The Poorer You Will Feel.steemCreated with Sketch.

I've been searching for perspective on aspects of life again recently, which is funny because I thought I had it mostly figured out before. But it turns out you need to refresh these findings from time to time and perform the ceremony of searching oneself again.

I think we all wish we had more. We always want the newest tech, or the latest model car, new shoes, etc.. etc, I could keep going on. That makes us feel poor, because we want so much more than we already have. But we can just as easily feel rich, because most of us are quite rich even if we don't realize it.

I feel rich when I drink water from my tap and don't worry about becoming ill. I feel rich when I put the heat on in my house. I feel rich when I choose what I want to eat for my meals. I've been to enough places where these simple things are absolute luxuries.

By always wanting we make ourselves poor. One of my favorite sayings to this day is "There are two ways to be rich in life; Either make more, or want less." And to me, it's simplicity still speaks volumes of truth and wisdom.

So I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you're mindful and appreciative of what you already have, rather than focusing always on what you don't, you'll be much more content with your lot in life, as you probably should be. And just stop wanting so much stuff anyways. If you have nothing and want nothing, then you have all you need.

And remember, there are people who are happy with less than you have.
