One thing you have to know before you can succeed is what you should believe in that's external to you.
So, what do you believe in the most that you are confident about investing your time and resources in?
You may have a few suggestions, but hear me out:
Invest in yourself: You have to believe in yourself to invest. You have to do things your own way. It's how you do that matters more than what you do. It's about what you would like to say more than what others would like to hear.
Invest in your path: Surround yourself with people who will give you a hand when things fall short. Be generous enough to give your best work for free. Do anything that might help lubricate your process towards what you consider your success. Climb publication after publication, and call it an investment.
Invest in the lessons you learned from your mistakes: Mistakes help you find a new track. When you are confident enough to make mistakes, and invest in them, you will soon come up with something original.
