Phone reviews these days...

Has anyone else noticed that phone reviews are now a race for the best hairdue, beardstyle, backdrop, deepest narrator voice, all packed in 4k 60p video, sometimes with some drone shots thrown in; and let's not forget that using the most expensive microphone in the industry, hanging right in front of your face, as if you are talking to someone's huge privates, makes you an indisputable icon in the reviewing industry.

What happened to the simple spec sheet and half a minute talk about the pros and cons of a phone?

Why is it so important now how a phone feels in your hands? I don't mind round to sharp edges or weight distribution, just as I don't care how a brick feels in my hands, as long as it does its job - hit a phone reviewer in the face.

I wanted to write similar post about reviews, but concerning unpacking. Why is this so important, that most of the clip guy just looking at the box, or unpacks the things(phone, instruments, anything). F.e. microphone. I saw many movies when guys were just talking about mic, unpacking it, and that's it. Without any voice recording from this mic, what I think is the most important!

Some people enjoy the packaging and even keep it - as if it's part of the product. Apparently there are enough of them to warrant these videos. Or maybe they just want to know what's included with the product. :)
