The HTC U12 plus has a sizzling new design with Pressure Sensitive Buttons, a new touch feedback experience and intelligent, interactive edges.
The most striking feature about the phone is that it relies on HTC’s pressure-sensitive tech for the side buttons, which are fixed in place and provide haptic feedback instead of being mechanically operated. The phone can recognise which hand you’re holding it in, and squeeze the screen down to one-handed mode with a tap of the thumb along its side trim.
Specs
6-inch Quad HD+ (2880 x 1440) Super LCD 6 display.
It’s IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, that it has dual cameras on both the front and the back, and that it has HTC’s beloved BoomSound speakers.
HTC is redoubling its efforts to offer a choice of digital assistants, with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa preloaded on the U12 Plus.
The software is based on Android 8.0.
Sporting a dual-lens rear camera system that brings OIS and EIS, the phone features a 12MP wide-angle lens with HTC’s UltraPixel 4 tech, and an impressive f/1.75 aperture. The other lens is a 16MP telephoto lens that boasts a f/2.6 aperture.
For all those who like to use their phone late at night, in bed the pressure-sensitive sides of the device really work well. They interpret how you’re holding the phone and stop the screen from rotating to landscape mode when you don’t want it to.
Colours
The smartphone comes in three color options: Ceramic Black, Flame Red and Translucent Blue
