The moving chronicals

fence.jpgHello from Canada!
Today I will tell you about the move we have to make. Since they are literally paving our paradise and turning it into a parking lot.
It all started just over 2 years ago, when we found this house to rent, the management company owned it and told us that they were not planning on selling and we could do what ever we wanted and stay as long as we needed. (stability is important when you have children with Autism)
Fast forward through building at our own expense a 200+ foot fence and gate, and renovations to the kitchen and in May of this year we were told, sorry you have to move!
You see there is a medical building next door and they want to expand, the already own the house on the other side, so they want to buy this one (which is right and good, I don't begrudge anyone selling what is theirs and making a nice profit)
The problem for us was finding a 5 bedroom home in the right area in this little city in the time given us.
Luckily for us, my husband's ex boss is also a landlord and was able to make it so we could move into his duplex (as a whole house)
She's a lovely century heritage home house2.jpg But as lovely as she is, she wasn't ready for a family of 6, especially when 2 of our family have autism, poor muscle control and bad decision making skills.
So before we could move in we had to pull out all the carpet and the laminate flooring to put in more liquid resistant coverings.
The Biggest project by far has been the kitchen, which was not suitable for our needs at all.
My next post will be all about renovating the kitchen in our new to us Heritage home.
