One of the best photos I've ever taken, and with a simple phone camera as well!
With landscapes as beautiful as this, and with the strategically placed churches it is hard to not take great pictures.

Even though the pictures are amazing, the history of Ouro Preto is immensely dark. It was from here a lot of the gold was mined by slaves up until as late as 1888. If you are not claustrophobic you can visit the mines yourself, some are so small that only the children could enter. And the workers were always joined by a parakeet - when the bird died, the oxygen is too low and you have to get out quickly.
