I have long loved dominoes and have a set of my great, great (maybe another great in there) gran's that is from the 1860s (seen on the sides of this photo, full set made from bone), I use her set to read from... remember the Ways and the Ways will remember you. <3
Oh, I love to play the game of dominoes too and am rather good.

Oh. For some reason I thought you had bone dice, didn't realize they were dominoes. I also thought they were made from her bones, ha!

You know, synchronicity strikes, but I've actually thought of dominoes quite a bit over the past month and a half. When I was a young child I spent every other Saturday at my maternal grandparents', and my grandfather played quite a bit of dominoes with me, as a young child.

I am not sure I've ever played dominoes with anyone other than my grandfather, which is weird, cause I quite liked it.

I do have bone dice from the same Granny, same period, and lots of other goodies from her. They are made from bovine, I'm sure... but it would be awesome to have bone stuff from ancestors.

I love that you have the Grandfather dominoes expereince, it's such a wonderful game.

Bovine, hmm. But it's fun to think that maybe they aren't ;-)

My grandfather probably can't play dominoes anymore. His eyesight really deteriorated 2 years ago. I do find it weird how I've never played it with anyone else. I mostly see old men from the former USSR playing it these days in small coffee shops.

My family gatherings are always filled with games of dominoes. Somehow, we don't have any antique sets. What a powerful ancestral connection you must have to those. Thank you for sharing this bit of your magic.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving this wonderful comment. That family gathering feeling of warmth and fun is always what the thought of dominoes evokes in my mind because it is also tied to those for me. :)

Dominoes is full. Your set is more beautiful, because it has so many memories attached to it. Great click. :D

Thank you. :)

It's got the patina of years, lineage, and love.

I can see that in your words and in the comment above mine. :)
