Beautiful Scenery/Accident

Central Washington's Palouse is where I have been working building Passing Lanes on state route 195.
Monday I was entertained with these gorgeous views all day.
Along with the scenery, four different highway construction sites over a 12 mile stretch impact all traffic. Dealing with delayed and frustrated drivers can make the day long and hectic.
That evening, 14 hours and 450 miles since 5:00 AM, when I left my house, I was 3 miles from home when I was stopped by...
ROAD CONSTRUCTION!
I had known the stop was coming and expected to be held up about 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, irritated, I shut off my pickup and resigned myself to wait patiently. What choice did I have?
My drive home is along the Spokane river and as I looked to the left I was once again awed by mother nature. Instead of office buildings, 4 lanes of traffic, or row houses, this is the place I found myself waiting.

Not a bad way at all for a day to end!

Two days later, working on the same passing lanes, we were shut down early. The kind of excitement we don't want to have!

Multiple vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on Highway 195
Approaching the north end of the construction zones a Semi(not related to our work) failed to stop and rear ended a car pushing it forward into more cars. There were serious injuries but fortunately no fatalities.
In my line of work I am always thankful for a boring day(beautiful scenery is enough). Today was not one of those.
My dash cam caught just a glimpse of the accident site as I was delivering what would be my last load of the day.

There isn't much to see in the dash cam footage, but I'm grateful for that.
Tomorrow I'll be on the road again. Hopefully it's an interesting and beautiful day without major excitement! Till then...

What a beautiful view. Your post reminds me that we should always look for the good, and the silver lining in our environment no matter what else is going on around us. We can always choose to focus on beauty. Have a wonderful day.

Look For The Good And Praise It

Thanks for viewing, and for the comment.

When caught in traffic, we find ourselves spending time in a place, not of our choosing. Or when we're working on a project or building something we find ourselves in unexpected places for longer periods of time. These unforseen pauses and places are the gift of an experience. Yet not everyone opens their eyes to receive these offerings. To some, this is just another delay or hotel stay. To a Steemian, however, it's an experience and a post opportunity. Lucky us, cheers.

Yes, it is often a post opportunity. Only recently have I started to learn the art of sharing some of the amazing things that happen in my every day life.
If I could print pictures from my memory, I could fill a thousand photo albums!
Too many times I have allowed myself to stay stuck in the frustration..

I must admire you my friend. You’ll live a long and prosperous life because you can turn a situation that would stress most of us out into a commune with nature!! I bet your BP is top notch!
CARRY ON!

Often I am like a duck. Calm on the surface, paddling like crazy under the water!

I like the analogy!
