My Moment of Joy
And now ... here it is! No.2
A couple of weeks ago, we went to a little restaurant at the Dingli Cliffs in Malta. It's very close to the national park on the cliffs. The diversity of plants in the park is awesome.
I was so happy to find the One Kilometre Platter on the menu and needed to talk to the owner instantly. He explained to me where every little ingredient for the dish comes from. All bought close by in a maximum range of one kilometer around the restaurant. The owner described the personality of the farmers and how much love they put into their products. Some he even became friends with.
This might be not such a special idea for California, but here in little Malta it is indeed very special. I enjoyed the meal so much. The precise ingredients you can see below on the picture I have made for you.
This is such a great and simple way to support your community and focus on seasoned fruits and vegetables. This idea made me very happy!!! Joy !!!

Your first photo is stunning, I love the cloud effects in it. And what is that gold ball looking thing in the background? Some sort of radar station?
Provence and buying local are becoming big for small business, and people really appreciate being able to eat fresh produce from the local area. The meal sounds excellent from the menu - did it taste as good as it sounds?

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the clouds are what I like most about the picture two. We have amazing cloud formations here.
The radar station in the back is where the commercial aviation/flight control for this sector of the Mediterranean is.
This concept is unfortunately still rare here, but slowly more and more are interested in really fresh food and this is so good.
It was delicious!!! I loved the homemade artichoke halves most.

oh no - it is STILL special in California too!!! :) we highly celebrate locally sourced foods that come straight from the garden to the table! :)

This was such a lovely platter. With every bit I had on the fork I thought about these amazing people around growing all these little vegetable treasures. The owner told me all the details - this was so cool!!!

Oh, I love the rain ... unfortunately, we have none here ... I live in a country which is on the water ranking in the second last place ... means ... we we are happy for every drop :)

actually we have lots of it.. we are kinda afraid when it rains so much because some areas get flooded easily.
rains does makes us happy sometimes especially during drought season, the farmers are all wishing for a rain.

Same here ... if ... if we have rain ... which is very rare, it rains so heavy that everything gets flooded, also the houses sometimes. This Winter was so extreme, not so many rainy days, but when, then heavy. I remember me running up and down in the house and putting towels everywhere. We had buckets pooring through every slit :)

The things we do are a bit similar in every aspect.. hahaha i find it too familiar.
