Seascape photography featuring Changi Village's sunset

in photocircle •  6 years ago  (edited)

I read somewhere that a sunset would need abundant clouds to make it really beautiful. It does make sense since sunset is basically a light. An amazing light would require an element to receive its illumination, otherwise we can’t perceive its presence.

In the case of this photo, the sky is obviously lacking a bunch of clouds on it. The only hint that we have that can say that we are viewing a sunset is the haze along the horizon. It absorbs the light from the warm sun which results to an orange-ish or yellowish hue on it.

On the other hand, the rough waves of the sea creates a strong textural contrast to the dull sky. Some of the warm sunlight is depicted on the waves which creates a contrast of light & shadows on its surface.

Beautiful photography

Thanks a lot :)

This looks sweet!

Thank you :)

Love the photo but I also love the way you have analysed it and broken down the elements of it. It gives a good perspective of why you like the photo and what you were trying to achieve. You’ve inspired me to do the same in some of my future posts. Keep up the great work :)

I do this all the time, I critique my photography and try to learn the assets and flaws of it. Of course, I also welcome the critique of others, especially the constructive ones. Thanks a lot for liking it.
