Cloud Carpet Over The Bolinas Ridge

Here's another Velvia 50 Medium Format film photo of the Bolinas Ridge. I did process this film myself with a Jobo processor. Quite difficult to do at home actually as you had to make sure the temperature of the water constant to process the film.

Under these clouds over yonder is Stinson Beach. You can't see it though because of the clouds :)

wow, it looks incredible!

I love clouds. Very nice shoots

Absolutely gorgeous bro! I have to have a look into this camera.

edit// could you do a post about the Mamiya, I would be very interested!

I could about film large and medium format altogether...but film is just, hate to say dead, very niche now :)

I would very much welcome that :) But look at that picture man! So vivid and alive :D Will keep my eyes open for more. It is a real pleasure for people who get the whole picture of what it means to carry that camera up there, setting it all up, taking that pic and actually developing the thing. So much more life in this. Much respect :)

Wow superb click 👍

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

That crazy nature.

Great job, thumbs up to your creativity and hard work, i love it.

Now there's an inversion shot! That's just gorgeous. I ran a race in 2015 that started & finished at Stinson Beach … but I don't recall getting views like this. :) Very nicely done

You have to be up on the hills on Bolinas, I quite often see this scene :)

Beautiful landscape

That is absolutely astounding. The colors are crazy. The fog/clouds look incredible.

what a majestic photo. It's an art. Congratulations

Really awesome photo of the cloud covering.

So beautiful

That is so pretty! I love all the colors!

So beautiful, you are perfect camera-man

good exposure time brother ... very good photo

That is stunning work! I used to shoot on medium and large format film before the days of digital, so I know the work you put into this. . I had my own darkroom for mostly black and white, but did process some color film in a rolling tank, if I remember correctly. It was 25 years ago!

This was only 10 years ago :)

I had long since been totally digital. LOL! I will need to dig out some of my transparencies, but don't have a good enough scanner for them anymore. I could rephotograph them on a light box, though!

Absolutely stunning work.

I like that you didn't crank up your fstop too much; it gives this husky sense of depth to the image

Great sunset photography my friend....Thanks a lot for sharing .
And travel is my best passion .
Carry on your activity

WOW !

Wow nice pic ! You definitely master the film photography technic. Could you present your hardware in a post ? I would be interested to read that :)

What a magnifficant snap, the color contrasts are amazing. You should add it to the SteemitWorldMap and join the contest I did to encourage users to contribute to the map.

This is a brilliant photo. And considering its film... well done mate!

Beautiful. Velvia is so rich. Is it as expensive down there now as it is up here in Canada? About 25 CAD per 35mm roll now 😭 plus tax!! Hehe. Great shot though. I love the way the mountains and the clouds create such layers. Like a beautiful cake! 😁 Cheers!

Good Post have a good day friend

Amazing timing of capturing the shot. :)

Great shot mate! The colours in this are really nice.

Great light in this one. Love the clouds. Makes you want to scream "I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD."

wow!!!nice very sweet photography..i apricate your post.thanks a lot.
for sharing this natural sunset photo...

I love this photo, steeped in atmosphere, truly stunning!

Yes, I think you're very brave attempting any colour processing in a home/studio set up. During my many years spending hours at a time in the darkroom, and being before the internret was even a thing, everything was geared up for making prints, and with the more complicated processing and the expense, I never did venture into colour developing and printing, leaving my colour work to a pro lab. Which was really no where near as satisfying as when producing your own prints. Hence I stayed mostly B&W for many, many years, and only as the digital medium and editing software started to really get to the high standard it has in recent years, have I really got properly into colour work.

It's about being in control of the whole process from click of the shutter to the viewed photograph. After all, an artist is hardly going to let somebody else choose his colour pallet, which is, to some extent, pretty much how I've felt when collecting colour prints up from the pro-lab, a really good pro lab too. The qulity was hard to fault, but was now influenced (read as tarnished, lol) by the thoughts of someone else as they judge and make compensations and adjustments for colours and punch etc.

I take my hat off for attempting the film processing! Have you attempted analogue colour printing too?
