The Capital Capitol's Engaging Engagement

in photofeed •  7 years ago

Last Winter, I had a client that used to work in the Ohio Statehouse, in Downtown Columbus. He got a photo pass for the evening, so we had about an hour to roam the halls after working hours, and to take some shots wherever we wanted to (within reason, obviously). A lot of the inside was awesome, but the walls were mostly flavored an old dull yellow, which isn't my favorite to shoot in. We kept exploring, and came across these stairs that I instantly fell in love with. Maybe it's because I used to play with marbles all the time, but I love marble(s). I told them they needed to stop, and we needed to figure out a way to use this to our advantage. I took quite a few different shots, but finally ended with this one. I had a flash above them on the right side, and then a flash on my camera as well. This by far was my favorite shot of the night, and I think it was one of their favorites as well.

The dude was a gentleman as well, so I had him do his classy "kiss-of-the-hand" and had to get a shadow shot as well.

There is a kind of timelessness to this you don't see very often. Very cool.

Thank you.

I love the atmosphere, beautiful pictures!

Thanks!

I can see why it was your favourite of the night! Nice one!

Why? Did you see the other ones? Were they bad? Man.. I've only tried to be nice to you!

Oh no! Bad jokes and now bad compliments

Hey dude... in your duties as photofeed guy, have you come across any super amazing fitness photos that I might be able to use for a new Steem project? Photog will get credited of course...

I mean, I could probably just take some pictures of me with my shirt off. That should work right?

That would be mind-blowing.

Obviously though, it'd be too good... I want people to be able to read the words underneath the photo, and I think you'd be just tooooooo good-lookin'.

If you guys haven't come across much, which seems likely, if I asked super nicely and promised to be good, could we maybe ask photographers to submit their fitness shots to photofeed to be used for a fitness curation service? Maaaaaybe, if I'm not stretching the friendship too hard, include the tag #fitnation as well?

True, that's a really good point! ;)

Has your project already started? Once it is we could just give a shout-out to it in one of our posts and introduce people to the tag if that would be helpful!

Just started right this second!

Fitnation Curation

A shout out in your post would be amazing amazing! Maybe even amazing cubed!

Consider it shouted out!

Thanks dudes! You're the bestest!
Happy to be quoted on any business cards or t-shirts you have made up in the future!

Coming soon to a t shirt near you:

I'm just joining now. But yeah, we will throw it by the whole team and see that we're all good with it (no offense)!

None at all... I wouldn't want your support just because I'm great... I'd only ever want it if the idea is something you'd all be keen to support.

Initially when I read this... I thought you wanted to check with the team if they were all keen to pose with their shirts off.

Yeah.. I mean we're all ready to show our swole.. Wait what are you talking about before?

Very nice work dude! Just goes to show how much it's worth looking around a bit more to find the best location!

Yeah, very true. You never know what you're getting into when going to a new spot. Gotta make sure you're flexible, that's for sure haha

Excellent work! I like marble too, especially marble like that! Reminds me of the capitol building in Utah - I guess there's something about capitols and marble. :D

Thanks dewd! I've only been in Utah when I was 8, with my disposable camera. You should see the shots I took of that building when I was there then.

I can only imagine how surreal those must be!

cool post, I really like it
