Walking a TightropesteemCreated with Sketch.

Alright, well it might not be a tightrope, but walking on a bridge doesn't sound near as exciting does it?

This was taken at Glacier National Park in Montana, with my friend Josh being the subject. This was after a 3 hour hike, where we came to a huge lake and went swimming in the freezing water. Glacier will always hold a special place in my heart, since it's a very diverse yet gorgeous park throughout, but has been unfortunately plagued by wildfires in the past few years. I'm hoping to return in a few years, and am really hoping that there won't be any huge fires that'll burn through large areas there. If you ever plan on going to Glacier, I highly recommend driving the Going to the Sun road for sunrise, afternoon and sunset. One of the most amazing roads with views on both sides for miles and miles.

Where you standing in the water while taking this photo?

Now THAT is dedication!

I think there were a few rocks there, but there was water underneath them if that counts!

Just Joshing Around: A River Crossing Tale

"Just Joshing Around: A River Crossing Tale" (Since it's a short story, not a book)

The peak peaking out behind the trees really reframed and makes the whole scene for me. Your work, as always, is terrific.

Thanks man! I really do think that the peak peeking is the artistic peak of this peakture too!

Peak Photography.

I would love to hike in this place! Thanks for sharing!!

It's totally worth it! Here's a little more information about it. You won't regret it! https://www.nps.gov/glac/index.htm

Beautiful image: everything is so balanced, tones, colours and composition! Also the main target in the picture lifts up nicely from the dark woods.

I go hiking quite a bit myself and must say there's not a single time that a rope bridge wouldn't get me tense when crossing it, haha!

Very nice shot, congrats!

Regards,
Esa

Thanks for the kind thoughtful words! Yeah, rope bridges aren't necessarily relaxing, are they? :)

Hehe, most definitely not!

Enjoy the vote and reward!

I'd have to muster a lot of courage to walk on that bridge; nice camera though; wish I could get a 6D but its pretty expensive in my country.

Thankfully I had gotten that camera used online for a really good deal. But yeah, camera gear can be expensive!

yea a used camera would be a nice idea but am scared of buying a bad camera; any tips on how to spot a "good used" camera? I'd really appreciate the tips so I can get something good or can an iPhone 6 suffice for starters?

Any camera can work for now, but I would suggest when your funds allow it and you're serious about photography, to buy a cheap DSLR (Canon T2i is a good starter) and learn more of the technicalities. Ebay can be pretty good.

Looks a bit like a tight rope actually

Love that you kept your fstop low

Haha, it does right?
And actually, that lens is full manual lens, so I'd be lying if I knew what f-stop I shot that at. It's a Rokinon f/1.4 but I rarely shoot it wide open. I assume this shot was probably around f/4, but I really don't know.
