Dancing with the Stars - closing out 2018

in photofeed •  6 years ago

Back at the first of September I had my last Dancing with the Stars photo shoot for the year. The shoot was with a couple local dancers that have had this shoot on their bucket list for a few years.
We had this shoot on the books back in August but had to reschedule due to heavy smoke from wildfires. We eventually got our schedules to line up for early in September. We had some great clouds for sunset, which unfortunately stuck around a bit for the stars, so we didn't the most clear skies but there were stars nonetheless.

And now for some photos from the shoot. This first set is Kara, she has Cystic Fibrosis and has an amazing story, she wasn't supposed to live past 10, she's in her 30's now!

This next set is Morgan and she's incredibly flexible, as you can see.

Two amazing dancers! Thank you for sharing the story of Kara. I'll head to her profile and show her some love. She must be a very brave and strong lady!

Your photos are lovely. It was a very successful photo shoot! My favorite photos would be the fourth one of Kara and the sixth one of Morgan. They all are beautiful but these two caught my attention the most.

She can be found on Instagram

Both Kara and Morgan look amazing in your photos @caseygrimley. You captured their strength and gracefulness, with a beautiful background of stars and sky. Anyone who does pole dancing have my absolute admiration and salute. I am intrigued by the 3rd photo of Kara and 4th photo of Morgan. How did you create the light effect? Were they both photographed in one day and night? It is interesting how different the sky looked in each photo.

Thanks! For the light painting photos I just did a long exposure of 1-3 seconds and they helps as still as possible and I used a flashlight in a clear tube and waved it around. They were taken during blue hour before the stars really came out. 🙂

Oo thank you for sharing. I think it is a brilliant method because the effect looks very beautifully unique. You have a good sense of the models and the surroundings with an amazingly creative eye and style in bringing all the elements together. Happy weekend to you @caseygrimley!

Their poses are amazing and you captured it so beautifully... I especially love the one you took under the stars..

Kara's story is so inspiring, it amazing to see all that she does now after all the doctors report said back then, it's just amazing.... I hope she stays for even longer years and light her world...

Ya, Kara's a fighter.

Yes, she is! And I love her for that....

Oh my gosh!

Can a man do like that? lol

Mostly women do the pole dancing right?
And its incredible because most pole dancers I'd seen are somewhat thinner compared to that pole dancers you presented.

Anyways, all the photos are great indeed!
Good shot!

Men can certainly do pole and aerial, in fact it's probably easier for men because we are naturally stronger in our upper body.
It's also a seriously good workout.

Here's a photo from a shoot I did last year.

Oh man!
That's pretty hard pole position!
Not all can do that!
That arms are incredibly strong and firm enough.

Beautiful photography, great scene, good set up and the colors fit very well, I love that starry sky the most, again night photography has more dramatic and magic in it. The models are awesome, really a great respect for performing such beautiful art, they must have had their fitness classes quite regular, because it is not really easy to do such figures and especially upside down. My great appreciation to Kara, I hope she will have many years without health problem and will be able to pose for more beautiful pictures.

These are wonderful photos, and the stary background, wow!
And you've chosen that nice model in blond, who's not ematiated. Her rounded ass and thighs are gorgeous. A great creative decision.
