@PhotoFeed is the premier photo featuring project on the STEEM blockchain. This project is spear-headed by @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth and I and we aims to improve the experience of those who want to see beautiful high-quality photography.
We manually curate the #photofeed tag, resteem the best, create a daily and weekly round-up where we share the rewards while working on long-term solutions to create a better experience for the photophiles on steemit.com.
If you don't have time to browse the #photofeed tag for good stuff, just follow @photofeed for daily awesome photography.
Update
In the last week, our curation trail experienced interruption because of a sudden spike in user activities. Because of that, we stopped voting actively in the #photofeed tag. We sticked to our resteem/upvote + daily round-up.
But now it is back-on! Since @photofeed is still a baby account, we don't have the voting slider yet but that should be solved by next week. So, please go ahead and add your account to the @photofeed curation trail on SteemAuto!
Plans for the future
We can't wait for communities to come online! We aim to be the #1 community for professional and amateur photographers. Communities will allow for a better experience when it comes to browsing photography. We keep our eyes close to the hivemind github repo.
We are also talking about a possible Smart Media Token...we want all serious photographers to own it to have the power to curate effectively the community and topic they care about. SMTs will allow us to do that. Be active and a positive force in our community and discord and who knows...you might receive an airdrop!
An app is not out of the question either. But we will wait to see if there is enough demand for it.

That's great to hear the trail is back on!! Me personally have been trying my best to spread the word to a lot of new steemians who are trying to post pictures and some of them had decent quality snaps. So I have been redirecting them to articles on #photofeed the whole day!!

I, too, am excited about communities. Personally, it looks to be a great way to uplift the minnows because there is a better chance of whales interacting with them since the gathering is around a common interest.
The problem with Steemit at the moment is that it is one big stream of articles. As you mentioned, the tags need to be manually handled and many post under tags that are popular.
I might have to rekindle my interest in photography.

I read this post from start till end and this is what got my attention the most:
SMT is going to bring the Steemit revolution in online world in general and in crypto world in particular. Mark Zuckerberg announced that he plan to launch a token for Facebook...may be he knows that Steemit is going to put a huge dent on Facebook revenue.
