Going To The Sun in Glacier National Park

Oh, I do enjoy my panoramas! Especially when the scene in front of the camera looks like this. It was a good cloud day at Glacier National Park when we drove up the Going To The Sun Road, and the conditions necessitated many photo-stops.

Two long years have passed since we journeyed to Glacier, me and a few friends from Utah. We spent a few days driving and camping and hiking the park, photographing the lakes, mountains, wildlife and stars. The trip was lead by Mr. Midas himself, @caseygrimley, whose every decision turned to weather gold, placing us in the right place at the right time for stunning photo opportunities. This was also the trip in which we all almost drowned and/or froze to death taking a group selfie on an iceberg, a story for another day.

To date this is one of my very favourite non-solo adventures, and I look back on it with fond memories while looking forward to many and more group expeditions in the future.

Oh how I loved this trip. It seriously was the perfect adventure. Northern lights, milky way, rainbows, awesome sunsets, mountains, wildflowers, waterfalls, rivers, wildlife (#heybear), and of course great company!
The trip of all trips!

YES! :D :D :D

I've been in a lot of US National Parks but unfortunately not in this one. Do you know whats the highest elevation in this park?

Apparently it's Mount Cleveland, which is 10,479 feet. Not the highest mountains, but it's the juxtaposition between mountains and lakes and valleys that make this place special. :)

Who does not like to see the natural scene. Everyone wants to visit the beautiful places of the world. We have become mechanical to see ourselves the buildings of the brick-cement-stone buildings around us. Difficulty in nesting the house. So maybe our mechanical city, where there is a lot of opportunities, as well as our sightseeing. Because we are naturally comfortable. Now we do not go to enjoy the wonderful landscapes at any place of trouble, where we have to face many problems. And that is why we go beyond our sights, some of the wonderful places in the world.

Yes, there's nothing like the outdoors and getting away to nature when we have problems to face.

DID YOU LEARNED PHOTOGRPHY?

I'm always learning.

Huh. Can't tell.

wink

Well I try to be sneaky about it.

Fantastic mountains! Love the wildlife and nature of North America.

Yes, there's so much going on here. :)

So is this the American one?

Yes, that's right!

Montana is at the top of my list of states I want to visit and of course Glacier. Great pictures and fun that you went as a group. My most memorable group adventure was the Wave.

You'll like it there. Glacier at least, I can't speak for the rest of Montana. :D

I remember that story...memorable indeed! The common theme for memorability seems to be shared survival, haha.

What a magical road. That's probably the best overall road (well, not conditions..you feel you're about to fall off every turn) ever. Never a dull moment.

Let's go together sometime!

Okay! When?

Let's make it a Steem group!

I was thinking the same. :)

Great, let's make it happen!

Im more of a lone wolf but im utterly enchanted by the mountain shot

I feel like mountains are a refuge for lone wolves, literal and figurative. :)
