It was a dark and stormy night...

No, really, it was!

Somewhere in Missouri...

The lighting, it went off like a strobe, and the echoing drum of thunder was like a distant call to arms on that night where everything was alive, and electric.

Missouri Lightning

lovely image

Thanks! :)

WOW. Looks so unreal.

It was crazy! You can see how high the lightning was (it's a wide-angle lens), and yet it was so far away that the thunder was a distant sound. Never seen anything like it. The size of the storm was incredible.

Didn't you get scared? I would have freaked out. I guess I would be a horrible storm catcher hahaha

Actually YES, but when I stepped out of the car and realized the storm was many, MANY miles away (it only appeared to be close because of the size of it), I stopped worrying and got out the cameras. :)

It was a dark and stormy night. The old Buick drove slowly down the country road, he still had miles to go before reaching his final destination. He heard a loud 'thump' and then a muffled yell emanating from the trunk.

"Ah." he thought. "You're awake."

Beautiful framing. Is this the storm the night before your eclipse?

Not the night before, but two or three nights before - on the drive to Wyoming. :)

Very atmospheric photo! My congratulations, you're lucky⚡️

Thank you! Yes, I was. :)
