Yes winter in Australia is all about surfing clean waves from antarctic storms ! I did spend a winter living in Switzerland but that was a long time ago.

It was already -14 up at Peyto lake when I was there two weeks ago; so I would almost count the Spring and Autumns here as winter.

Yes its freaky cold. But has been warm this past week with highs of 17 !
